So school starts in a little less than 2 weeks. So I've been trying to get everything ready that we need to get the boys enrolled in school. Sean will be going to Kindergarten half days and Ethan will be in first grade. They are super excited but mommy is having a hard time :-)! So we sent in for copies of their birth certificates, and the only other thing I needed to do was to get Sean updated on his immunizations. I took him yesterday for his visit and took all 3 kids with me. He did great on his hearing and vision exam and did great through the exam. Sean has two bumps on the back of his head that we have been concerned about. They've been there for over a month and are the size of a marble next to his left ear. So I had the doctor check it out. She thought it was a lymph node, and we are going to watch it for a few more weeks. If it's not gone in a few weeks we will start doing labs to see what's going on. So please pray they go away completely!
Then it came time for the shots! I knew Sean was going to get 4 shots, and he was ready for it. But I had the doctor check the other kids immunization records to make sure they are all caught up. She saw that Kaitlyn will have to go in soon for her Hep A shot, and she also noticed that Ethan was 1 shot short. Eeek! So she said we could go ahead and get it done b/c they will want it for school. Well Sean got his shots first and of course he cried. I hate having them get shots when they are older!! He was so sad, but once we were done he was okay. Well Ethan saw this and started getting freaked out. He started to cry and screaming that he didn't want his shot. I tried to get him to calm down, but he was inconsolable. So I had to just lift him up and put him on the table and help hold him down. He screamed his lungs out as she gave him the shot! So stinking loud that the whole office and the waiting room heard him! I started laughing and comforting him, and I got him calmed down before we walked out of the room. We got out to the front desk to check out and all the office staff just smiled at me. I apologized but they said it was no big deal and that it happens a lot. It was pretty funny! Our first visit to this new office and my son screams for all to hear! Hello! We're the Andersons and we are going to be coming to the office for the next 15 years! Does anyone else's kids have a hard time getting their shots?
At least it's over and on Monday or Tuesday we can go get them enrolled!
Here's to a better year
