-It seems like I don't have much to blog about lately, but at the same time so much is happening right now ;-)! We got done with the women's retreat last weekend. It went really well. It was exhausting but great! Jennifer Rothschild is a great speaker and I love that her teachings are based on the Bible. You think that would be obvious, but I've heard a lot of women speak and a lot of times it is not based on the Bible but rather just on their experiences and opinions. While they may have great things to say, I want the Bible taught and preached. She did a great job, and I enjoy hearing her speak.
-Michael O'Brian was the worship leader. He did an amazing job. He was funny and yet totally honest in his testimony. He shared some songs from an album he recently wrote. It is an album of love songs he wrote to his wife! I texted Jarod when Michael was sharing that from the stage and said "Did you hear that? He writes songs for his wife?"- just to joke with him. He then told Michael thanks for putting the pressure on him and told him about my text! Ha! Too funny! I did get to meet him, which was great. Jarod got to work with him all weekend and really enjoyed it.
-Ethan lost another tooth- this time while he was at school. It is his 7th tooth that he has lost.
-Mindy(Jarod's sister) is getting married in 2 weeks!! Yeah! We are so excited for her and Nathan! We are thrilled to be there with them on their big day!
-David Crowder is coming to Tulsa on October 30. Jarod and I are going with 2 very special friends from Kansas City! We are so excited to have them come down and stay the night with us!!
-One thing that I love about being a Christian is being a part of God's family. I feel like I really understand this more now since we have moved to Oklahoma. We left some really great friends in KC, and we miss them dearly. It's wonderful to come back to KC and pick up with those friendships like there hasn't been any time away from each other. We always have a connection with those friends b/c of our love for the Lord. I look forward to Heaven b/c we can spend time with those we love, either those whom we miss b/c of death or those that we just didn't get to spend as much time with as we wanted too here on earth. Jarod and I have experienced God's family in KC and we are experiencing God's family here in Tulsa. We all serve the same God and will all be in heaven together. I'm enjoying meeting more of His family here every week while still keeping relationships with those in KC. Does that make sense?
- Each time the bills are paid, gas is in the cars, and food is in the pantry, I am so thankful for God providing for our needs! Not necessarily our wants (though He is the giver of every good and perfect gift) but our needs!
Here's to a better year
